The Italian NCP has one of the most comprehensive web sites of all the NCPs providing a wide range of information in English and Italian including past and future activties and the procedures to be used for submitting complaints. There is no information at all however on cases submitted to the Italian NCP.

Description The Italian National Contact Point was created by Article 39 of Law 273/2002 and the following Ministerial Decree. The NCP is based in the Ministry of Economic Development (MED) and is structured as follows:
- the General Director, the MED’s General Director for Industrial Policy and the Competitiveness, which has decision-making powers;
- the NCP Committee, which has a consultative function, is composed of representatives of relevant Ministries together with the main national business associations and trade unions;
- the Secretariat, composed of one manager and several civil servants of the MED, and tasked with handling the NCP's day-to-day management, planning the promotional activities of the Guidelines, handling specific instances (cases) and answering queries.

ResourcesIn its 2013 Annual Report to the OECD, the Italian NCP reports that there is one manager and three civil servants of which two are lawyers to undertake the day-to-day tasks of the NCP including handling complaints and promoting the Guidelines.

Recent Developments In 2013, the Italian NCP reported that it was undertaking a project on the 'Promotion of Responsible Business Conduct and the OECD Guidelines in Myanmar'. It also reported that it is is involved in Objective E of the CSR Strategy includes a chapter highlighting the importance of diffusing the OECD Guidelines as a primary tool in the global context. Under the National Plan for the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and in compliance with Chapter IV of the 2011 Giudelines the NCP asked a university to out a study on the national institutional, regulatory and policy framework on businesses and Human rights.
