Description The UK NCP is a dual departmental NCP supported by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Department for International Development (DFID). The NCP is located in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), which also provides the secretariat for the Steering Board. The Steering Board has a mandate to oversee the effectiveness of the NCP, including ensuring that procedures are followed and providing advice on implementing and promoting the Guidelines. The Steering Board is chaired by a senior official of BIS and includes representatives from the following government departments:the Foreign Office; DFID; the Attorney General’s Office; the Export Credit Guarantees Department (ECGD); the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; the Ministry of Justice; the Scottish Executive; the Department of Work and Pensions; and BIS's legal Department. The Steering Board also includes four external members representing business (CBI), trade unions (TUC) and NGOs as well as an independent member who represents the All Parliamentary Group for the Great Lakes and the Prevention of Genocide. External members are able to serve for a 3-year period with the possibility of extending their appointment for a further three years. The Steering Board can draw on external experts as appropriate. It meets on a quarterly basis or more often if required. Minutes of meetings are normally published on the UK NCP website.

Procedures The UK NCP has published its procedures together with a check-list of the information that complainants should include when submitting a complaint.
