Case Description In October 2013, three French trade unions, the Fédération Nationale des Salariés de la Construction et du Bois de la CGT, la Fédération Nationale Construction Bois de la CFDTand CFE CGC BTP, submitted a complaint to the French National Contact Point concerning the activtiies of Eiffage Energie. In 2013, Eiffage Energie re-structured into a number of small subsidiaries, rather than one large group, dissolved the 'Unité Economique et Sociale' and suspended the 'Institutions représentatives du personnel' (IRP).
Developments The French NCP met the parties separately on the 7 March 2014.
Outcome The French NCP did not consider that it could make a positive contribution to resolving the issues. Nonetheless, it recommended that the company conduct due diligence in order to prepare for the Court Decision and to address any adverse impacts caused by the suspension of the structures of representation. It also made a commitment to review the situation in 12 months' time.
